This sounds a bit strange. Usually, you have very high oil presure when engine is cold and it becomes lower when engine is hot, because when the oil becomes hot it is more liquid and you have more leakage at the bearings. So it is more likely the oil lamp lights up when the engine is hot (as it is in my LT).
In your case, i would check the brown oil pressure switch on the left side of the engine and exchange it (a used one will do).
How old is your oil filter? If it's too old, you would loose oil pressure, too, especially when oil is cold and less liquid.
Maybe you have the possibility to check the real oil pressure, to make sure.
The LT oil pump of the 2.4 engines is very solid, as some experienced LT-mechanics told me. It doesn't break down until it really is running dry.
